Floating intakes are  suspended just below the water surface where the cleanest water lies. From this position the water is abstracted by the pump. A ball float, filled with air, suspends the intake, which has a further filter and a check valve.

Connects a Floating Intake to a vertical pump.

The pump base fits most vertical pumps which suck in water at the base, and allows it to draw water through the attached floating intake to extract the cleanest possible water from the tank. Fits pumps of 115 mm to 125 mm diameter, and terminates in a 1 m anti-biofouling hose with attached floating intake and strainer.
